According to multiple reports the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to trade All-Pro Corner Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams. At this time, no details have been given as to what the compensation will be to Kansas City.
Adam Schefter of ESPN broke the story initially.
Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

The entire sports landscape has since jumped on it. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport a package of draft picks will be involved.

This story is continuing to develop as we speak. For my money, this decision makes the Chiefs a worse football team in 2018. There is no argument that can be made that the team gets better for this year, or even next by making this trade. Regardless of feelings Marcus Peters is an ELITE football player. An exceptionally rare talent, and absolutely ELITE. The Chief had 2 years of control left on him at minimum. The franchise knew he was a little rough around the edges when they drafted him. They chose to do that anyway. In no world, on no planet, does this trade make sense, at this time, for the Chiefs organization. This at face value, goes down as the worst decision the Chiefs franchise has made about a player since they chose to stick with Elvis Grbac over Rich Gannon after the 1998 season. Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

The #Chiefs traded CB Marcus Peters to the #Rams for a 2018 fourth round pick and a 2019 2nd round pick, sources say. The deal can’t be official until the league year begins.

There it is. The Compensation is announced. A 4th round pick this year and a 2nd round pick next year for a top 5 talent at his position in the National Football League. Speaks volumes to the level of interest in the player, but it is now officially safe to say, whatever happened between Marcus Peters and Kansas City caused the Chiefs to set their franchise back multiple years.
