There are people in Shawnee County who are struggling to make ends meet. That includes putting food on the table. One non-profit organization is helping those in need by making Thanksgiving a little better.
The Salvation Army in Topeka is gearing up for the annual “Community Thanksgiving Dinner”. This year, because of the Pandemic, it will be a drive-thru dinner. It will take place on Thursday, November 19th from 4 PM till 6 PM.
Here is the press release:
“This year due to the pandemic, the community meal will be conducted as a drive-thru. Families/individuals are asked to either walk or drive to the rear of The Salvation Army of Topeka, 1320 SE 6th Street, building on the west side. A closed container filled with turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, stuffing and a desert will be handed out. The community “Thanksgiving Dinner” is open to all regardless of income.
