If you found your way to The Kansas Expocentre last weekend (12/16/17) you helped break a record for attendance. Not only that, we consumed nearly 21,000 wings. Nice work Topekans! By the looks of the smiling/BBQ slathered faces we saw, you enjoyed every minute of it.
According to the Expocentre’s marketing genius Allie Manning;
“We increased our sold tickets by more than double of last years! We sold out, then released a few more tickets, and then sold out again!”
Our Midday Sloth/DJ Sloan made it to the Top 4 in the Wing Eating and Flinging Contest, but because the radio station was the sponsor of the competition, felt it was only proper to bow out of the finals, because, as he put it;
“Those other skinny dudes didn’t stand a chance.”
Clever words, Sloan, but after watching the game tape, we suspect it was because you couldn’t make a basket if your life depended on it. His new nickname is now Brick.
However, Sloan ‘chickening-out’ was most fortunate for the NEW Wing Eating/Flinging Champ Don Dammon!
